This infographic does a good job of explaining a new customer acquisition process.

Of course, the hourglass depends on the level of risk the #buyer is taking to purchase your #product or #service. For example, if u sell ice cream cones, the customer may skip the know-n-like cycle and go straight to buy cycle. However, a real estate agent won’t get the same treatment.
