1) Leave the car at home.
Driving to work is still the most popular way for people to commute to work. Taking public transportation can be a bit of a bother but if you consider that you will not have to keep your eyes on the road and imagine all the things you can get done while you are getting to and from work.
2) Use the time to plan your day.
Make a to do list of all the things you hope to get done on your way to work. You would be surprised to see what you can get done when you have committed to the doing by writing it down.
3) Check your emails and clean out your inbox.
It is estimated that workers spend 14% of their workday clearing out their emails if you could do that on the way to work you would be that much ahead of your day.
4) You can start your workload!
If you took public transportation you could easily start your workday 30 minutes ahead of schedule to give yourself the competitive advantage.
5) Get your social media fix.
Spend sometime on Facebook, Pinterest or one of the other social media platforms. Limit your interactions to positive events.
6) Pedal your way to work.
If you can ride your bike to work. If you cannot ride in on your bike try parking a few blocks from work to get your exercise in for the day.
7) Meditate on your way in.
Practice mindfulness or meditate on your way to work to start the day off on a positive note.
8) Read something that is interesting or even learn something new.
Commutes are a great time to learn a new language. After a few months of commuting you can easily become an expert at a new language.
Don’t waste your time on your commute. Use it wisely and get more out of life.
